Position Title: Graphic Designer (Print - Prepress and Mechanical Renderings) - Signage Business

Job Type: Full-Time

Position Summary:

We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Graphic Designer with a strong focus on prepress and mechanical renderings, specifically for signage. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in preparing files for print, ensuring accuracy and consistency, and working closely with production teams to facilitate seamless print runs. This role requires a technical mindset and a thorough understanding of print production processes related to signage.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Prepress Preparation:
• Prepare and finalize artwork files for signage printing, ensuring all specifications are met.
• Convert and adjust files to meet the requirements of various printing methods (digital, large format, lettering, CNC. etc).
• Check for and correct any file errors, including color conversions, resolution issues, and bleed adjustments.

2. Mechanical Renderings:
• Create precise mechanical renderings for signage projects, including outdoor signs, banners, vehicle wraps, and other large-format prints.
• Ensure all mechanicals are production-ready, with correct die lines, folds, and cutting paths.

3. Quality Control:
• Conduct thorough preflight checks to verify the integrity of print files.
• Collaborate with the production team to address any issues or discrepancies before printing.
• Review proofs and samples to ensure alignment with project specifications and client expectations.

4. Technical Collaboration:
• Work closely with printers and other production team members to ensure accurate and timely delivery of signage projects.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for file-related issues.

5. Documentation and Archiving:
• Maintain organized records of all projects, including final artwork files, proofs, and production specifications.
• Update and manage the digital archive of prepress files.

Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Print Production, or a related field preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a prepress or print production role, specifically in the signage industry.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop).
• Strong understanding of print production processes and requirements for signage.
• Experience with RIP software and preflight tools.
• Familiarity with large-format printers and materials used in signage.
• Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Communication: Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently.
• Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

• Ability to work under tight deadlines and adapt to changing priorities.
