EDUCATION DIAGNOSTICIAN

187 DAY CONTRACT

INSURANCE, RETIREMENT BENEFITS, AND PAID TIME OFF

2024-2025 School Year, Approximately 8/21/24-6/16/25

REPORTS TO:

Special Education Director

JOB GOAL:

Conduct assessments of students who have been referred for special education and related services, including the administration of standardized assessments, criterion-related assessments, behavior evaluations and assessments of academic processing. Work with special education staff and related service providers in the completion of required initial and three year assessments of students with identified needs for special education and related services.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Conducts initial eligibility educational assessments including behavioral observations and social developmental history.

• Assists special education staff in conducting three year educational assessments and writing assessment reports.

• Conducts academic processing for initial eligibility assessments and assisting special education staff with academic processing for three year eligibility assessments.

• Provides written analysis of assessment data and assist School Psychologist in writing the integrated reports.

• Attends initial and three year eligibility meetings to discuss test results.

• Attends other meetings as requested.

• Assists Special Education staff with referrals, gathering of information prior to referral meetings and attending initial referral meetings.

• Other duties as assigned.

CERTIFICATIONS,KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY:

• Hold or eligible to hold a Wyoming Standard License with EDD Endorsement, Educational Diagnostician.

• Master's in Special Education Diagnostics required.

• Minimum 3 years of teaching experience with special education focus.

• Evidence of excellent communication, problem solving, and collaborative decision-making skills.

• Wyoming teacher certification (Applicants must be able to obtain a teaching certificate issued by the Wyoming Professional Teaching Standards Board (

The School District places employees on salary schedules on the basis of:

• Wyoming experience.

• Out-of-state experience up to 7 years.

• Degree - Bachelor's, Masters, or Doctorate.

• Semester Graduate Credits beyond Degree.

Occasionally the employee will bend or twist at the neck more than the average person, may need to lift arms to write on chalk or marking board and occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch and reach 0 - 24 inches and up to 36 inches above the head. The employee is directly responsible for the safety, well-being and work output of other people. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision such as to read handwritten or typed material,the ability to adjust focus, and exposure to screen(s) via technology. Hearing ability to monitor activity and presence of students and respond to communication with students and adults is required. The position requires the individual to meet multiple demands from several people and interact with the public and other staff.

The employee may be exposed to unpredictable weather conditions. This position is typically performed in a hazard free, clean, and healthy environment.
