Are you a highly skilled and motivated person looking for your next challenge? We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Managing Editor to join our dynamic creative team based in Brighton.
Bright Press creates co-edition titles for adults and children, working with leading publishers from around the world.
As Managing Editor, you will be a key player in delivering our diverse and innovative publishing programme.
Contract Permanent Starting from £35,000 8 July 2024 Working hours 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
We currently operate a discretionary hybrid model, with three days in our Brighton office and two working from home.
About the role Reporting to the Editorial Director, the Managing Editor is responsible for delivering our co-edition publishing programme to schedule and on budget.
This includes working closely with the creative team to produce highly illustrated nonfiction titles on a range of subjects including natural history, travel, gardening, practical art and reference.
What you will be involved in:
Monitoring and driving the progress of all titles Evaluating projects to ensure content fulfils expectations Preparing and managing schedules and budgets Coordinating work-in-progress meetings Overseeing admin processes related to all titles Providing ad hoc support for the editorial team Managing the ongoing development and performance of the editorial team About you You will be a highly organised person with at least 4 years' experience working on illustrated nonfiction books in a senior editorial role.
You will understand co-edition publishing and be adept at managing schedules and implementing steps to mitigate potential delays.
You will be able to show you can:
Communicate proactively and clearly Organise your own work effectively Work as part of a team Manage budgets and schedules effectively Liaise with external contributors and publishing partners Proficiently work in Adobe Creative Suite What we can offer:
