Data Management Lead

Our client in the public health sector is looking for a Data Management Lead on a fulltime permanent basis. The role driving including defining and implementing a cloud-based data storage structure to enable analytics and reporting and implement data integration solutions across systems to streamline business processes. The successful candidate will also be responsible for data governance and standards to ensure data integrity, security, privacy, and compliance.

Responsibilities

Data Architecture Design and Analytics

• Responsible to develop and maintain the organization's data architecture in the areas of data storage through the build out of data lakes and data warehouses.
• Drive the implementation of cloud-based data platform solutions to support analytics and reporting.
• Ensure data storage, processing, and retrieval mechanisms meet performance, scalability, and security requirements.

Data Integration:

• Responsible to recommend design, development, and implementation of data integration strategies across disparate systems, driving business operational efficiency.
• Work with third party vendors to implement integration solutions to meet business needs
• Implement ETL (extract, transform and load) processes to cleanse, transform, and support integration into cloud-based data storage structures such as data lakes and data warehouses.
• Collaborate within the Information Systems and Technology teams to ensure data quality, accuracy, and consistency.

Data Governance

• Establish data governance frameworks, policies, and procedures to ensure data quality, security, privacy, and compliance.
• Responsible to evaluate and select data-related tools, platforms, and solutions from external vendors.
• Responsible to create and maintain documentation of data architecture, data models, dictionaries, system designs, and data-related processes for reference and training purposes.
• Responsible to monitor and ensure compliance of data governance standards across the Agency.
• Collaborate with Manager to develop data strategies aligned with organizational goals.
• Responsible to create and maintain data technology roadmaps that supports business objectives and growth.
• Collaborate and provide expertise in data architecture and analysis tools, techniques, and methodologies to support data-driven decision-making.

Data Security and Privacy

• Responsible to implement and maintain data security measures, access controls, and encryption protocols to protect sensitive information.
• Act as an advocate and collaborate to enforce data security and privacy measures and access controls, ensuring compliance with industry regulations.

User Training and Support

• Provide training and support to end-users and internal teams to ensure efficient utilization of databases and applications.
• Provide support to business users for reporting and analytics as they leverage on-premises databases and cloud-based data lakes and warehouses to enable their reporting needs.
• Provide technical expertise and training in the design of data analytic reports and dashboard for business outcomes.

Requirements:

• 5 + years experience in technology delivery experience, with focus on data management
• 3+ years experience in similar role within data management, with a focus on cloud platforms
• 3+ years of experience in data modeling, ETL, and database design.
• Familiarity with data security and compliance standards.
• Certification:
  Cloud Architecture Certification, Data Engineering Certification, ITIL Certification preferred.
