Sr. Accountant

Our client is a not-for-profit Catholic health care system operating multiple hospitals and medical clinics across seven states.As a leading healthcare provider, they are committed to serving their communities and ensuring the well-being of patients. This role is 100% remote.

Responsibilities:

Balance Sheet Reconciliations:
- Perform comprehensive balance sheet reconciliations for the foundation's accounts.
- Investigate discrepancies and implement corrective actions to ensure financial accuracy.
- Maintain accurate records and complete reconciliations in a timely manner.
Process Standardization:
- Develop, implement, and maintain standardized accounting processes for efficiency and accuracy.
- Communicate these processes to stakeholders for consistent application.
- Continuously evaluate and refine processes to adapt to changing needs and regulations.
Journal Entries:
- Prepare and post journal entries related to the foundation's financial transactions.
- Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with accounting standards and policies.
- Maintain organized documentation to support all entries.
Financial Reporting:
- Assist in preparing accurate and timely financial reports for the foundation (monthly, quarterly, and annual).
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements specific to healthcare foundations.
- Collaborate with the hospital's finance team for integrated financial reporting.
Donor Fund Accounting:
- Manage donor-restricted and unrestricted funds, tracking usage in line with donor intent and regulations.
- Provide financial insights and support for donor stewardship in collaboration with the fundraising team.
Audit and Compliance:
- Assist in internal and external audits of the foundation's financial activities.
- Ensure adherence to GAAP and other relevant accounting standards.
- Stay updated on healthcare and foundation-specific regulations for compliance.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Minimum 5 years of accounting experience (preferably in healthcare or hospital setting)
Strong knowledge of GAAP and healthcare foundation regulations
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
