The Virginia Community College System ( VCCS ) invites nominations and applications for the position of Senior Vice Chancellor ( SVC ) for Academic and Workforce Programs. The

Reporting to the Chancellor of the

VCCS , the Senior Vice Chancellor will be a proven leader focused on the strategic alignment, integration, and coordination of academic, student, workforce, and research programs and services to more than 230,000 learners annually. A key member of the Chancellor's Cabinet, the

is a leading advisor who is charged with strategic leadership and delivering a differentiating vision for the System and its Colleges as well as the divisions under its purview.

Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience. The salary range for this role is approximately $225,000 - $275,000 with a generous benefits package.

VCCS :

• An earned doctorate is required;

• A commitment to the community college mission, without being bound to its past constraints;

• An understanding of higher education governance and the demonstrated ability to understand the colleges' internal processes for decision-making and to articulate and manage system office actions in concert with these protocols;

• The ability and desire to innovate and apply creative problem-solving to the complex challenges facing Virginia and higher education;

• The ability to identify unique and new partnerships for the

• A commitment to diversity and inclusion, and an understanding of the fundamental need for multiple perspectives and backgrounds;
