Hadoop Developer Remote

Maximus is looking for a Remote Hadoop Developer. The Hadoop Developer will work on a variety of projects in the Cloudera Hadoop (CDP 7.x) environment. This individual will be required to work with both business and IT areas to develop solutions from design through implementation.

Project Specific Duties:
•Design, code, debug, test, document and maintain Hadoop solutions based on established technical design
•Provide Hadoop coding support to ensure Hadoop jobs are running efficiently
•Maintain best-practices, standards, and procedures documentation
•Respond to Service Desk requests and problems
•Assist users with various inquiries related to Hadoop coding issues
•Provide consulting, guidance and mentoring to business areas using Hadoop to support their processes
•Provide on-call support to the Hadoop environment
•Research and resolve production problems
•Aid in troubleshooting issues with Hadoop users
•Assist business areas using Hadoop
Project Specific Experience
•5+ years of ETL development experience
•The ability to provide clear communication to management on issue identification and resolution.
•Must demonstrate and provide specific examples on how the individual has shown initiative for emerging technology research.
•Interest in data management technologies and/or development practices.
•The ability to provide clear communication to senior management on issue identification and resolution.
•Willingness to learn new Hadoop technologies at an accelerated pace.
Preferred Experience
•Linux Bash experience
•Python scripting experience
•ETL development experience using Precisely (previously Syncsort DMX-h)
•ETL development experience with Change Data Capture (CDC) using Informatica
•Experience with developing Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) documentation such as BSDs, TSDs, and test plans
•Experience with Cloudera Hadoop environment
•Good working knowledge and experience of IT and Application Development technologies and SDLC practices
•Experience with Cloud technologies
•Experience working on Federal Contracts/Systems

Job Summary The Hadoop Developer will work on a variety of projects in the Cloudera Hadoop (CDP 7.x) environment. This individual will be required to work with both business and IT areas to develop solutions from design through implementation. The primary focus will be around Hadoop development. This individual must be willing to participant in a production on-call rotation schedule with other Hadoop developers after six months of experience and training.
Education and Experience Requirements Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, code, test, and debug new software or enhancements to existing software of complex software applications.
• Perform maintenance on existing software products and contribute knowledge of business applications.
• Contribute as necessary to the development of all project artifacts throughout the system development life cycle.
• Write SQL queries and analyze existing queries for performance tuning.
• Perform post-deployment verification.
• Review the existing documentation.
• Document technical specifications.

Minimum Requirements:
• Requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 3 years with a Master's degree.
• Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.
• Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
• Networks with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise.
