Typical Day in the Life:

A typical day as a Tax Administrative Assistant might include the following:

Work with spreadsheets, track data in a database, time record keeping and client maintenance.
Assist partners, managers and staff with all office activities (typing, faxing, scanning and copying).
Create various reports.
Print and assemble final versions of tax returns for corporations, individuals, partnerships, payroll, nonprofit and financial institutions.
Electronically track and save returns according to Firm guidelines. Responsible for e-filing and producing extensions tracking.
Backup support for reviewing, sorting and routing incoming mail; distributing outgoing mail.
Order and stock supplies.
Open to new challenges and assist with special projects as requested.
Pick up additional administrative responsibilities when needed.
Assist with accounts receivable and collections

Who You Are:

You thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced work environment.
You are a multi-tasking master, and there has never been a deadline you could not meet.
You hold yourself to the highest professional standards and maintain strict client confidentiality.
You are proficient in Microsoft Excel including the ability to create spreadsheets, perform data entry, use basic formulas (e.g., SUM, AVERAGE, IF), and generate simple charts and graphs.
You are proficient in Microsoft Word including formatting, creating tables, and utilizing mail merge functions.
You have strong written and verbal communication skills.
You love collaborating and being part of a team but also enjoy working alone with limited supervision.
You preferably have experience working in a professional service or accounting firm.
In addition to all of this, you have a high school diploma, 3+ years of past administrative support experience and you are willing to work overtime (during tax filing periods).
This position requires prolonged standing and sitting, some bending, stooping and stretching and the ability to lift up to 20 lbs.

Must be authorized to work in the United States now or in the future without visa sponsorship.
