Construction Support Supervisor

Job Summary:
This position is responsible for planning, organizing, and monitoring the progress of construction work to meet strategic deliverables and project targets. Responsible for the compliance of the assigned company budget, quality standards, schedules, compliance with safety and internal policies. This position will also direct activities of contractors, subcontractors, and workers on the site, as well as inspect and evaluate the quality and safety of work done.

• Overseeing the pre-construction phase of projects.
• Monitors and manages the quality process of construction projects to ensure that work is being done according to project specifications and standards and that every aspect of the workforce, materials and process and standards meets or exceeds expectations and is always consistent with the quality goals of the company.
• Responsible for supporting the project development team during the planning phase by actively taking part in team meetings, ensuring accurate and timely development of construction execution plans, construction work plans, estimates, constructability, and other related documents as required.
• Conducting internal audits and inspections.
• Discussing materials with suppliers.
• Conducts regular, on-going team meetings with the construction staff to create an environment of open and effective communications.
• Develop, gather, maintain, and/or submit work plans, submittals, reports, etc.
• Provide solutions to trends affecting the division's goals and offer the necessary training to the assigned division to improve metrics.
• Create and monitor consolidated business metrics to ensure targets are met and identify trends and issues that will impact operations decisions.
• Responsible for guidance, setup, coordination, administration & monitoring of service requests, including executed contracts, and resolving conflicts with vendors.
• Monitors to ensure that resources are shared across operational area to optimize our effectiveness in meeting customer expectations while prudently managing resources.
• Work closely with the Logistics team for the coordination of all support services, including but not limited to lodging, rentals, facilities, tools, etc.
• Responsible for the development and improvement of company personnel and for fostering an environment that rewards mentoring and encourages employee cooperation.

• Perform major storm restoration work and associated drills as assigned.
• Follow all policies and procedures.

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field preferred.
• 5 years of experience related to transmission, distribution, telecom and/or substation construction including civil work, foundation work and site construction management or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in a Large electrical utility environment with knowledge in design, construction, equipment, and components is preferred. Experience in the commissioning of electric utility systems is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of construction processes, procedures, and practices.
• Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction documents.
• Experience developing work plans and leading teams.
• Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities.
• Ability to manage and resolve conflict.
• Strong skills in the use of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Ability to create, analyze and make recommendations for financial and operational changes on an on-going basis to Leadership.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Bilingual, Spanish and English is preferred.
