Description:
The Material Handler is responsible for operating a forklift for the purpose of moving, locating, relocating, stacking, counting, unloading, and loading merchandise within the warehouse.
The Material Handler is responsible for the safe and efficient use of industrial vehicles and equipment.
The Material Handler is responsible for order selection and inspection, as needed.
The incumbent must have a clear understanding of, and adhere to, Wavepoint Warehousing operational and safety policies and procedures.
The incumbent will also be asked to assist in unstacking, packing, shrink wrapping and restacking pallets of products to make variety or display packs for customers.
This position will work at Wavepoint facilities in the Erie area.Benefits

• Company match 401(k) Retirement SavingsMaterial Handler Essential FunctionsInspect trailers and inbound materials for signs of shipment damage, contamination, and infestation.
Report any damages to supervision.Verify quantities, lot numbers, and production code dates against manifests and driver documents.
Report any shortages, misplacements, or discrepancies to supervision.Unload inbound trailer shipments safely and efficiently.Move product to the appropriate storage locations.Pull and prepare product for shipment, ensuring that the product comes from the proper locations, and that the quantities and lot numbers agree to the picking documents.Perform picking duties in an efficient manner that meets customer service standards.Inspect trailers and outbound materials for signs of damage, contamination, and infestation.
Report any damages to supervision.Safely and efficiently move product from the staging or storage areas into trailers.Load, unload, move, stack, and stage product and materials using sit down and stand-up style forklifts, or other power equipment with various attachments.Inspect equipment daily and verify that it is operational, and meets safety requirements, prior to the start of the day's activity.
Report any issues to supervision.Maintain all equipment and materials in a neat, clean manner.Operate all equipment safely and efficiently, following prescribed work methods.Keep appropriate records and reports to guarantee that inventory control and security is maintained.Ensure proper stock rotation.Assist in physical inventories.Lift cases off pallet to place on conveyorRemove bottles from tray and place in tray of mixed productThree separate stations will be placing three different flavors of product in new caseGuide case of packed product to wrap machineHeat tunnel will shrink wrap and case will need to be stacked at end of lineProperly palletize cases per customer orderPlace on turntable to wrap and seal with stretch filmContinue to stack another new pallet while turntable wraps prior palletMay drive lift truck, if certified, to move full and empty palletsAdvise lead person of any damageKeep area clean from trash and debrisKeep all dropped containers picked up and sorted (good or damaged)Perform other duties as requested by lead / supervisorRequirements:
