Linux Systems Administrator III

Responsibilities:

Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers and applications in physical, virtual, and cloud environments

Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to optimize efficiency and resource utilization

Diagnose and resolve complex system issues across various layers of the infrastructure

Implement and maintain robust security measures to protect systems and data from unauthorized access and vulnerabilities

Develop and maintain scripts and automation tools to streamline repetitive tasks and improve operational efficiency

Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting

Work closely with other IT team members to ensure seamless integration and support.

Report to office when required for tasks (hybrid / majority remote)

Participate in on-call rotation

Qualifications:

Experience:

5+ years of experience in Linux systems administration

Strong proficiency in Linux command line, shell scripting (Bash, Python, etc.), and configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, etc.)

Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, KVM, etc.)

3+ experience with cloud infrastructure and services such as AWS EC2, S3, and RDS

Familiarity with containerization technologies

Experience with monitoring and logging tools

Skills:

Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
