To effectively perform secretarial duties, including finanacial secretary duties, and otherwise relieves school officials of clerical work and minor administrative and business detail. Also contributes to the overall function and operation of the school system by performing duties assigned to this job.

Responsibilities and Essential Functions: Applicants employed in this position must be able to perform the following tasks and functions which are fundamental to the purpose of the position.

Perform a variety of clerical duties such as filing, typing and duplicating materials.
Composes and types routine correspondence.
Answers telephone and give information to callers or routes call to appropriate official and places outgoing calls.
Keep inventory updated as new equipment, books and furniture are purchased, keep supplies stocked.
Assist/greet guests and visitors.
Sort and distribute mail.
Follow policy and procedures for dispensing medication as outlined in
Lawton Board of Education Policies and Administrative Procedure Handbook.
Be knowledgeable and follow policy regarding blood-borne pathogens as outlined in the Lawton Board of Education Policies and Administrative Procedures Handbook.
Issue requisitions and authority-to-pay vouchers; in charge of all activity funds and instructional budget. Makes deposits, issues receipts.
Maintain student records to include transcripts, enrolling, and withdrawing.
Supervise all secretaries within the school.
Submit leave on spreadsheet generaed by Human Resources.
Serve as primary information source within the office.
Input master schedule into computer and other date entry requirements.
Other duties as may be assigned.

Skills and Abilities Required:

High school diploma/GED.
Must possess good organizational and computer skills.
Ability to work on several projects concurrently, to complete task quickly and efficiently, and independently.
Be able to protect confidentiality of information and cooperate in a team effort with other employees.
Ability to read and interpret documents and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole number, common fraction, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ration, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
