Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is hiring a Payroll Specialist to join our team in Plano, Texas or Las Vegas, Nevada.
Westwood has a highly experienced and dynamic team of individuals dedicated to providing high-level professional services to our clients.

Department Overview
Part of a Finance team that supports a growing, dynamic, professional services staff.
We have 30 offices and approximately 1800 employees.
This role will join 2 other payroll professionals.

Responsibilities
The Payroll Specialist is responsible for preparing and processing bi-weekly payroll in Ultipro (UKG), managing tax cases with UKG and responding to employee questions.
Additional duties include assisting in quarter and year end processes; researching tax agency inquiries; special projects; and training employees on our self-service applications.

Ensure direct deposit and employee information is accurate in payroll software.
Banking correspondences including verification of account numbers and bi-weekly submittals.
Review timesheets for accuracy and completion.
Post weekly time and run and distribute weekly reports.
Process bi-weekly payroll ensuring accuracy and timely submission to payroll service.
Process new state registrations for payroll reporting.
Assist in month end, quarter and year end processes.
Assist AP with 1099 processing at year end.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

1-3 years of recent experience in payroll processing.
Experience in processing multi-state payroll taxes.
Must have strong organizational skills, detail oriented, deadline driven.
Strong interpersonal & communication skills.
Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.) and have strong typing/data entry skills.
Strong preference for experience and skills with UKG (Ultimate Software).
Excellent collaboration and teamwork attitude
Ability to comprehend the big picture while paying attention to the smallest details
