MAJOR FUNCTION:

The AVP, will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing data integration solutions across Inspira working directly with leadership to define a data integration strategy to ensure the organization's data is accurate, consistent, and reliable for both internal and external use.
This includes, developing architectural diagrams and working with the VP of Technology and Security to develop the overall data strategy and road map; Developing educational tools centered on EDW usage; orienting the business to various business intelligence tools and metrics; promoting efficient use and integration of data across the enterprise; providing training and orientation to the EDW environment and tools to improve and promote company efficiency and enhance the data skillsets of all employees; Increase the breadth and depth of data available to executive leaders and operational managers, which they can then use to drive business decisions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience:

Bachelors degree in Information Technology or related field or related experience.
A minimum of 5 years of experience specifically within the healthcare sector is essential.
Proven experience in designing and implementing interoperability solutions within the healthcare domain.
This includes expertise in integrating data from various healthcare sources such as Electronic Health Records (EHR), Health Information Exchanges (HIE), and third-party vendors while ensuring data security and compliance with industry standards.
Strong technical background in data engineering and integration technologies, including experience with ETL processes, data modeling, database design, and cloud-based data platforms (such as AWS, Azure).
Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in healthcare data integration, such as Python, is highly desirable.
A minimum of 7+ years of leadership/management experience in healthcare data projects is required.
Experience in managing complex healthcare data projects from inception to delivery is essential.
Understanding of healthcare data governance principles, data quality management techniques, and regulatory requirements related to patient health information (PHI).
Experience in establishing data governance frameworks, defining data quality metrics, and ensuring data integrity and reliability is crucial for this role.
Minimum of 10 years of experience specifically within the healthcare industry, with a deep understanding of healthcare data standards, regulations, and terminology.
Experience with healthcare systems, Cerner Electronic Health Records (EHR), and clinical data exchange is crucial.
At least 10 years of leadership/management experience in Data and Integration management.
They should have led a data warehouse and data engineering role or department, demonstrating expertise in designing, implementing, and managing data integration solutions.
5 years of experience in cloud-based data platforms like AWS, Azure, and analytical data warehouses like Snowflake.
Proficiency in developing cloud services, batch processing, databases, and third-party API integrations is essential.
Experience in physical, conceptual, and logical data modeling, as well as familiarity with healthcare terminologies and interoperability standards, is crucial.
Demonstrated experience in leading projects and processes, including coordinating activities across diverse departments and ensuring alignment with business objectives.

Knowledge & Skills:

The ideal candidate should possess a deep understanding of the healthcare industry, including knowledge of healthcare standards (such as FHIR, HL7).
Demonstrating the ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive data integration initiatives aligned with organizational goals.
Strong background in data architecture, data warehousing, ETL processes, data modeling, and analytics tools.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for effectively engaging with stakeholders at all levels and presenting updates and solutions to senior leadership.
