Job Summary
Performsmanual cleaning of the assigned building by the foreman.Uses proper methods and materials in cleaningand care for the building area and equipment, participates in the care,cleaning, and general housekeeping of the buildings that is assigned,completing all task (football, baseball, work orders, etc.) assigned by theforeman.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Helps the foreman andlead person when responding to emergency situations during and afterhours.Emergency situations may include;property damage,personal injury, water leaks, flooding, overflowing restroom fixtures,broken window or door glass, and accidents resulting in theappearance of bodily fluids (blood, vomit waste, and urine).
Must be able to showknowledge on the following types of equipment: auto scrubbers, burnishmachines, wet vacuum, and pressure washer.
Sweep, mop, and scrubfloors; dust and clean chalkboards, white-boards and erasers; washeswindows, walls, blinds, trash cans, air conditioning grills, and glassdoors.Cleans rooms, replenishessupplies, and cleans drinking fountain in assigned buildings.Cleans and polishes brass, empties trashinside and outside, and sweeps entrances, outside steps, andsidewalk.Cleans windows, doorareas, and stairwells.Clean otherarea as assigned.
Following the directionsof the foreman and lead person.

Minimum Qualifications

HighSchool diploma or general education degree (GED) or 1 year of relatedexperience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education andexperience.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Knowledge of University policies and procedures, professional standards and regulations.

Knowledge of cleaning techniques and procedures, and the use of custodial materials, tools, equipment, and chemicals.
Skill in managing ones' own time while completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.
Ability to listen to, understand, and follow instructions.
Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations with professional composure and the ability to react and respond quickly and calmly in emergency situations.
Ability to establish and maintain a good rapport with university faculty and staff, students, and the general public.
Ability to work successfully as a member of a team and independently with moderate supervision.
Ability to operate personal computer with a general understanding of application software, and an understanding of the internet.
Ability to obtain a driver's license prior to employment.
Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.
