Maintenance AssistantHarry Meyering Center supports people with developmental and intellectual disabilities in their homes and community.Schedule:
Full-time; Monday - Friday, first-shift (typically 8:
00 AM-4:
30 PM) with some evening and weekend hours as needed.Wage:
$18.00 per hour.Duties and ResponsibilitiesConduct building maintenance, repairs, and some cleaning tasks.
Pursue professional growth and development.Display exceptional documentation skills and knowledge of systems, routines, and programming.Transport individuals served safely and professionally.Respond to urgent needs that may arise during transportation, including personal cares of individuals served.Conduct maintenance and repairs on vehicles owned by HMC.Record necessary information to maintain up-to-date property and vehicle records.Complete repairs and maintenance as assigned.
Communicate progress to appropriate individuals.Respond immediately to any observed safety or health hazards.Aware of fire and safety regulations.Understands property and project budgets.Work cooperatively and professionally with contractors, plumbers, electricians, repair persons, vendors, etc.Requires regular travel to various sites to oversee and/or complete tasks.
Maintain HIPPA Compliance in all written or verbal communications, both external and internal to HMC.Follows all health and safety policies and procedures.Completes other duties and projects as assigned.QualificationsMust be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or general education degree.
Prior experience or training is not required but is desirable.
Must have a valid Driver's License and pass a driving record check conducted by our insurance carrier.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including effectively communicating with individuals, support teams, and co-workers.Must be self-motivated and exhibit strong interpersonal communication skills, able to solve problems and respond effectively to emergencies.Must have a basic knowledge of technology programs.
IE:
Microsoft Office products.
Be able to use and/or be willing to learn and operate additional technology platforms.Displays a positive attitude towards the job.Must work with colleagues and have the ability to work independently to carry out job duties as assigned.
Must have a valid United States driver's license and pass as an acceptable driver through our insurance carrier.Must pass an MN Department of Human Services Background Study.Physical RequirementsAbility to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
