The objective for the Senior Accountant is to provide excellent internal customer service across various departments while preparing and maintain accounting schedules, reconciling accounts, analyzing data, identifying efficiency opportunities and supporting business operations across multiple branches and multiple departments. This role will help to set up strong processes to support the growth of the company and has the opportunity to take on additional responsibilities and tasks as the business grows and expands. The ideal candidate will demonstrate ownership in their responsibilities and initiative towards other tasks and processes within the organization that they identify in their daily activities.
Preferred:
Multi-entity, intercompany experience
Sage Intacct experience, Concur, Service Titan or similar software ERP systems
Experience in Public Accounting preferred
CPA or in progress
This is a Full Timex exempt position. Will work on-site at our Baltimore 21230 Office.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Prepare and maintain weekly and monthly bank account reconciliations, investigating discrepancies and variances, identify correcting entries.
Manage credit card transaction posting and account reconciliations across eight branches. Communicating with branch GMs regarding activity and ensuring proper categorization of transactions.
Daily review of fraudulent banking transactions. Reporting suspicious transactions and managing the dispute process.
Record intercompany transactions and maintain accurate and reconciled intercompany balances. Investigate discrepancies and identify corrections.
Prepare and maintain monthly roll forward balance sheet support schedules. Reconcile general ledger accounts to support schedules. Identity proper revenue and expense recognition.
Post weekly payroll entries, review and reconciliation of transactions as payroll is processed.
Identify opportunities for efficiencies and streamlined processes within the accounting department and across other areas of the business.
Assist in implementation of new software and systems.
Prepare recurring and ad-hoc month end journal entries, corporate allocation journal entries, performing variance analysis and preparing monthly internal financial reporting for senior leadership and external financial reporting.
Prepare regulatory reporting, supporting schedules and monthly/quarterly.
Support various financial statement audits through preparation of PBC items, performing walk-throughs, and preparing financial statements and related notes.
Complete variance analysis of balance sheet and income statement accounts.
Perform analysis to determine trends, estimates, and significant changes to general ledger accounts.
Develop and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders, including business unit, department, and executive leadership.
Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
Complete reports and analysis as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS / ABILITIES:
Ability to identify needs of automation and streamline with the use of technology.
Ability to understand the integration of multiple data sources and adaptability with technology.
Communicate effectively using internal/external customer service. Strong interpersonal, verbal and writing skills.
Ability to manage high volume, complex transaction activity
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Strong analytical, investigative and critical thinking skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
WORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Work is performed in a professional group office environment.
Lift up to 30 Lbs.
Ability to travel by car to all LTP branches when required.
EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION:
Required:
Bachelors degree in accounting or similar field
5+ years of experience working in an accounting department with increased job responsibility
Advanced computer skills and high proficiency with MS Excel
Strong integrity and personal initiative, resourcefulness and problem solving skills
Knowledge of GAAP
Sage Intacct experience, Concur, Service Titan or similar software systems
