MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

College education or experience in field as determined by DirectorMinimum of three years of experience in School Nutrition, Food Production, Public Health or similar positionFamiliar with Dietary Guidelines for Americans and USDA School NutritionMicrosoft office (required), USDA approved menu planning software (required) and working knowledge and experience using social media.
SKILLSExcellent organizational, analytical, management, and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate effectively via written, verbal and social media channelsUnderstand the importance of technology and automation in data capture and analysisAbility to appropriately prioritize, detail oriented and goal driven, willing to learn and assume responsibilityFlexible attitude and an ability to collaborate in a team environmentStrong oral presentation skills with the ability to engage with various audiences.
DUTIES:
Supervise food service clerical, cafeteria workers and lunch attendants.Collaborates and acts as a liaison with district staff and community members to promote childhood nutrition.Assists the director in collaborating with district nutrition initiatives.Monitor, maintain, and update nutrition database with menu, ingredient, and allergen data.Retrieves nutrition data as needed.Coordinates media information and marketing for cafeterias and websites.Coordinates décor design projects for cafeterias and food service vehicles including developing all forms of signage to include on menu boards, labels, static clings, a la carte poster, pamphlets, digital displays, etc.Assists in recipe and menu planning including special menu items such as gluten free, meat free, and dairy free options.Identifies local products for inclusion on the school food menu.Works with parents and nurses on food allergen and dietary concerns.Develops and executes special projects as related to food service.Coordinates advisory groups.Assists with staff training.Provides on-site visits to schools and recommends changes and solutions for managers.Other duties as assigned.
