Job Summary

The Fabricator position must design and fabricate metal assemblies and weldments and be familiar with structural welding, forming and various other fabrication processes. In addition, this position also performs routine industrial mechanical job duties.

Principle Accountabilities
• Fabricate, manufacture or assemble items as indicated on blueprints, sketches or schematics of complex objects as requested by project manager. Knowledge of the properties and characteristics of metals used for cutting, welding, and forming objects and of various welding fluxes and rods.
• Ability to work with complicated welding tools like ox-fuel, plasma, mag-drills etc.
• Proficient in cutting and joining metal parts for fabricating, tools and various other articles, applying tools like mig-welder, plasma cutter, arc welder, chop saw, oxyacetylene torch etc.
• Proficient in designing and fabricating the equipment and parts for meeting the special or unusual needs, using the manufacturer specifications, calculator, measuring devices, drawings etc.
• Able to install or remove any equipment where rigging is required.
• Able to design and create holding jigs that aid in fabrication of the parts in various numbers.
• Performs mechanical troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance on equipment according to manufacturer's manuals, diagrams, sketches etc. This includes, but is not limited to, pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, and drying equipment, to sustain and improve operations in a manner that minimizes downtime.
• Ability to maintain routine inventory supplies that are used for operating the welding unit via inspection of stocks and ordering fresh stock as and when required.
• Ability to operate forklifts, scissor lift, boom lift, single man lifts etc.
• Ability to go through RCA process and fabricate reliable solutions.
• Ability to take job assignments from engineering and maintenance managers.
• Ability to work in team atmosphere.
• Ability to meet project deadlines.

Education-Experience
• VO Tech certificate and 3+ years fabricating experience or equivalent experience 5+ years

Work Environment/Physical Demand
• Manufacturing Plant Environment
• Must lift/move up to 50 lbs.
• After hours/weekend plant support

Food And Workplace Safety Requirements
• Proactively manage safety by ensuring compliance with all Federal and State regulations and internal Company policies. Ensure unsafe conditions are corrected in a timely manner. All employees are responsible for immediately reporting any food safety, food quality, or plant security issues to management for appropriate action.
