Title: Graduate Assistant (Population Sciences in the Pacific)

Monthly Type: 11-months

Full Time/Part Time: Part Time - Full Equivalency (FTE): 50.00%

Salary: Step 13 ($2,245.50 per month)

Other conditions: Inquiring candidates must be enrolled as students at the University of Hawaii Manoa campus.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist PI with writing research papers for journal submissions

• Maintain records of human subjects in research studies.

• Provide support to PI with data analysis and interpretation

• Assist with developing a strategic plan, evaluation of progress, process, and outcomes, and creating data-based profiles for research studies

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (MQs):

• Must be a classified degree-seeking student in a graduate program under UHM Graduate Division.

• Must be in good academic standing and maintain a GPA of 3.0 or above.

• Have a background in Public Health, Psychology, Nutrition, and other related field.

• Demonstrated competency in general computer programs (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, Photoshop, etc.).

• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.

• Working knowledge of SAS, R, and other data analysis software.

• Ability to safeguard confidential and sensitive material and information.

• Demonstrated ability to communicate and work effectively with others.

• Must have strong organizational skills and be able to multitask.

• Must be dependable.

Desirable Qualifications

• University of Hawaii graduate student in public health or related field.

• Prior research and data analysis experience.

• Knowledge of database management and program evaluation.
