DescriptionPosition Summary/ Objective:

Under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor and/or Manager, the Maintenance Tech I will be responsible for performing general maintenance duties, routine inspections and repairing faulty equipment or damaged structures. Associate will work independently or in a team under little to no supervision. This position relies on good judgment to perform the functions of the job.

Primary Essential Functions:

All associates are obligated to support and uphold the values, expectations, policies, and procedures of Grand Pacific Resorts as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
Perform routine maintenance and repairs on a variety of building systems and appliances including but not limited to electrical, plumbing, painting, appliance repair and HVAC.
Apply basic skills in two or more of the following trades: electrical, carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, painting, floor care, and general appliance repair to ensure quality is maintained throughout the resort.
Perform routine service repairs, and preventative maintenance of all aspects, in individual units, common areas, grounds and community.
Complete guest-requested repairs and service within the required time frame.
Complete all assigned maintenance work on vacant units within GPR's standards.
May participate in routine inspections (including QC, preventative maintenance, machinery, appliance, etc.).
Perform general maintenance and cleaning of common areas, maintenance shop, trash removal, and snow removal if applicable.
Report any maintenance concerns for repairs on units, and/or common areas to Supervisor and/or Manager.
Maintain and update all assigned service requests until assignments are completed and closed.
Demonstrate the appropriate and safe use of standard hand and power tools, equipment and machinery.
Comply with all OSHA safety regulations, local applicable laws regarding health, safety or environment and GPR Standard Operating Procedures and Policies.
Understand and follow safe work practices for all trades, including but not limited to: Lockout Tag-out, Confined Space Entry, use of hazardous chemicals, use of Personal Protective Equipment, Ladder Safety, and working from Elevated Surfaces.
Responsible for conducting all responsibilities in a professional and ethical manner.
Responsible for maintaining a consistent, regular attendance record.
Adhere to performance standards, company policies and procedures, as they relate to the department.

QualificationsEducation, Skills & Experience:

The ideal candidate must be a detail oriented, thorough, and professional individual who consistently provides exemplary customer service to guests, owners, management and associates.

At least one year of related maintenance experience preferred.
Beginning level understanding or experience in two or more basic trades: electrical, carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, painting, floor care, and/or appliance repair.
Working knowledge of appliances.
Competent skills regarding the operation of small hand and electrical tools, basic electrical, carpentry, painting and small machinery repair.
Basic computer skills (able to operate mobile device, PC).
Must be available for regular on-call work assignments/emergency calls, work scheduled off-hours and emergency overtime as required.
Strong customer focus and customer service skills.
Must have a valid driver's license.
Ability to operate a motor vehicle if applicable. May require use of personal or company vehicle, or electrical cart.
Ability to travel to other regional locations for work, training, meetings and other work-related functions.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Experience in the hospitality industry (time share preferred).
Ability to work well in a diverse team environment.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications Required:

Must be available to work various shifts including weekends and holidays.
Must be able to successfully pass applicable auditions or skill testing, background check, physical examination and drug screening test.
Ability to speak and understand the English language. Fluency in Spanish is preferred.

Physical, Environmental & Other Requirements:

Must be able to stand and/or walk for up to 8 hours.
Must also be able to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl.
Must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Clear vision (close, distant and depth perception) is needed for navigating office and all other buildings within the resort.
