Section 508 Specialist - Veteran Transition

Crowned Grace International is seeking a Section 508 Specialist - Veteran Transition to join our team! You will be responsible for managing and delivering a significant initiative supporting military members and their families as they transition from the military to the civilian sector.

Qualifications:

At least five years of experience producing or assessing digital instructional materials that adhere to accessibility standards.
Able to identify and resolve accessibility barriers to provide accessible material and websites.
Provide support in real-time and post-production captioning services to provide accessibility.
Able to evaluate the accessibility of instructional technology devices and software and recommend best practices.
Interprets and ensures compliance with local, state, and federal laws regarding disability.
Provide accessibility analysis, documentation, and remediation of digital learning experiences.
Experience in communication and well-versed in explaining and implementing accessibility and disability standards, regulations, and best practices, including WCAG 2.0, Section 508, WAI-ARIA, UAAG, and ATAG.
Experience with assistive technologies (e.g., JAWS, NVDA, Voiceover, ReadOutLourd, Zoomtext, MAGic, braille keyboards, embossers, textbook conversion, speech recognition, captioning, etc.) and various accessibility tools.
Experience gathering and organizing information to resolve problems and redefine processes and procedures.
Experience in collaborating with various levels of government personnel and conducting onsite observations to determine the methods, equipment, and resources for product development.
Develops solutions or alternative practices and recommend new systems, procedures, or processes.
Review and edit correspondence, curriculum, and programmatic documents.
Provide recommendations to management through presentations or written reports and confer with managers to ensure changes are effective.

Strong working knowledge of transitioning military personnel and their families to civilian life and program requirements
Previous experience in global projects
Strong project management skills
Strong analysis and critical thinking skills
Deadline and detail-oriented
Strong leadership qualities

Education and Experience Requirements:

Bachelor or higher degree in computer science, engineering, information science, or information systems management, business administration, or a degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and requires the development or adaptation of applications, systems, or networks.
Five years in an advanced management role (preference given to those with program management experience).
Exceptional leadership skills, time management, facilitation, and organizational skills.
Working knowledge of the transitioning military personnel and their families to civilian life programs.
Working knowledge of government chain of command and transition policies.
Working knowledge of change management principles.
Applicants must successfully undergo a background investigation.

Must be able to pass government background investigation.
