Position Summary: The Licensed Practice Nurse, PRN is primarily responsible for, but not limited to, the care and accuracy in obtaining vital signs and initial patient history, performing routine nursing procedures, triage patients both in clinic and via telephone as necessary. This is a temporary, part-time position. This position will be required to travel between the Conway Health & Resource Center (CHRC), Family Health & Birth Center (FHBC), and Marie Reed Health Center (MRHC) to provide nursing support on a weekly basis. The LPN reports directly to the Director of Nursing.

Highlighted Duties and Responsibilities:

Serves as a practical nurse performing patient care and nursing administrative duties for patients in accordance with established policies, procedures, protocols, and guidelines.
Prepares and administers prescribed medications by oral, sublingual, intramuscular, intradermal, subcutaneous, topical, dermal and inhalation routes.
Rotates between the Conway Health and Resource Center (CHRC), the Family Health and Birth Center (FHBC) and the Marie Reed Health Center (MRHC) to provide nursing support to both sites on a weekly basis.
Provides patient teaching on preventative healthcare and health maintenance.
Assists patients in following through with established treatment plans.
Performs a variety of diagnostic procedures; sets up procedure room and equipment.
Provides nursing care to all patients including, but not limited to, EKGs, wound dressing, assisting providers with minor procedures, and administering nebulizer treatment to asthmatic patients as ordered by providers.
Assists with clinical procedures done by providers in the office as needed.
Performs vaccine and medication administration on patients of all ages when ordered by a provider.
Performs venipuncture, processes lab specimens/prepares to be sent to lab.
Responds to patient messages and prescription refill requests.
Addresses patient phone calls in a timely and efficient manner, forwarding to the provider only when necessary.
Reviews lab results daily, call patient when results are normal.
Attends clinic staff meetings and COH all staff meetings.
Is compliant with all federal regulations, including HIPAA, OSHA, etc.
Performs other duties as requested by supervisor.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

LPN license required.
A current, unencumbered DC license with current CPR certification required.
Knowledge of primary care and health maintenance required.
Minimum of 1-2 years experience in an ambulatory care setting.
Experience with eClinical Works or other EHR preferred.
Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
Commitment to work with underserved populations required.
Ability to work in a non-profit environment required.
Bilingual in Spanish, Amharic, or French strongly preferred.
Ability to perform tasks involving physical activity, which may include moderate lifting and extensive bending, standing and good body mechanics
