The Institutional Marketing team oversees the promotion of APA's databases and digital learning resources, including APA PsycInfo, APA PsycArticles, Academic Writer, and PsycLearn.
Our goal is to ensure researchers, students, educators, and clinicians have access to vital resources needed to address society's most pressing issues.

Responsibilities and expectations of Institutional Marketing Intern

Assists with Institutional Marketing team's social media activities, including researching, writing, and scheduling content for Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
Supports planning and logistics for events and conferences.
Drafts copy for various marketing tactics, including blog posts, email, and print and digital advertising.
Conducts research on current marketing trends to help Institutional Marketing team develop new tactics, update existing collateral, and better understand the needs of key stakeholders.
Assists with ad campaign trafficking and website updates.
Provides administrative support for Institutional Marketing team, to include calendar management, invoice processing, and reporting.

Outcomes/Goals for the internship

Develops understanding of scholarly publishing ecosystem, and how APA Publishing products solve market problems.
Establishes working knowledge of Institutional Marketing's target audiences and key stakeholders.
Gains experience collaborating with other APA marketing teams, using project management software and other marketing platforms, and adhering to project deadlines.
Understands how to develop and execute marketing strategies and tactics for both retention and prospecting of customers.

Hours and Timeframe

The duration of the Institutional Marketing internship will last between 3 and 4 months and will average 20 hours per week.
Candidates should be available to begin position in February 2024.
