A law firm in Walnut Creek, CA, is seeking a skilled Civil Litigation Attorney with 3-5 years of quality experience in business litigation. The ideal candidate will possess strong case management skills and experience with various litigation tasks such as written discovery, depositions, motion drafting, case strategy development, and court proceedings.
Job Overview:
The Civil Litigation Attorney will be responsible for overseeing cases from start to finish, focusing primarily on business litigation matters. The role requires a proactive self-starter with excellent writing and analytical skills, attention to detail, and a strong academic and professional background. Experience in construction or employment litigation is considered advantageous.
Duties:
Manage all aspects of civil litigation cases, including written discovery, depositions, motion practice, and trial preparation.
Develop and execute effective case strategies to achieve favorable outcomes for clients.
Conduct legal research and analysis to support case arguments and strategies.
Draft and review various legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and settlement agreements.
Participate in court proceedings, including hearings, mediations, and trials.
Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and internal team members.
Requirements:
3-5 years of experience in business litigation.
Membership in the California State Bar.
Experience in construction or employment litigation is a plus.
Strong academic record and excellent professional credentials.
Education:
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
