About the Role & Team
The Subscriber Lifecycle Analytics team is looking for a Data Analyst who will help to measure, understand, and take action to mitigate subscriber churn across a growing ecosystem of Disneys streaming service offerings (Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+). Our teams expertise is exploratory data analysis, sophisticated reporting, data visualization and storytelling to deliver actionable insights and provide recommendations to drive business decision-making. This group collaborates with teams across the Direct to Consumer organization as well as partners from business units across The Walt Disney Company to generate insightful, compelling, and strategic analyses that help make a difference. This role will build positive relationships and partner closely with Finance, Business Operations, Business Strategy, and other Analytics teams to ensure the business understands sophisticated retention trends and implications for strategic decision making. The teams work will drive the development of business and operational plans that are encouraged to have broad influence at all levels of the organization.
Responsibilities

Translate sophisticated business questions into SQL including accurate cohorting, calculations, filtering criteria and/or aggregations
Communicate complex trends and churn drivers to a wide array of business partners with varying technical expertise from operational teams to executive audiences, both in oral presentations and via written reports
Engage with other Analytics teams to analyze retention performance of key business initiatives across content, engagement, and marketing domains
Build and maintain operational dashboards in Tableau and Looker to understand performance over time, enable efficient exploratory analysis, and equip partners with self-serve tools
Partner closely with business collaborators (Product, Business Operations, Finance, Marketing etc.) to identify and unlock opportunities for improved subscriber retention
Basic Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Marketing, or related field
At least 3 years of Data Analytics experience
Advanced analytical skills with the ability to apply business strategy to data analysis and recommendations
Ability to think strategically, analyze and interpret first and third party information
Experience manipulating large data sets and interpreting data trends using a multitude of disparate data sources and tools
Experience with data exploration and data visualization tools like Tableau or Looker
Strong analytical and technical skills to tackle issues, analyze the cause, quickly come-up with possible solutions, detail the changes, and communicate organizational impact
Demonstrable experience in detailing the data requirements, data strategy, data rules (standardization, cleansing, and validation)
Preferred Qualifications

Experience in the streaming media industry and/or supporting a direct-to-consumer or subscription-based product
Experience presenting and contributing to data stories that are shared with key business partners
Additional Information
• DISNEYTECH
The hiring range for this position in New York, NY is $98,000 to $131,300 per year and in Santa Monica, CA is $93,400 to $125,200 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidates geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
