It's Work That Matters.OverviewPurpose Statement/Position Summary:


The Respiratory Care Manager assumes primary responsibility and oversight of all aspects of the Respiratory Department, Sleep Lab and Pulmonary Function/CardioPulmonary Exercise Lab.
Monitors performance of all staff and the department, including budgeting.
Initiates, develops and review clinical and operational policies, patient care protocols and standards of practice.
Ensures compliance of all CHLA policies and standards.
Monitors clinical and quality performance.
Monitors expenditures on a monthly bases, prepares variance reports.
Develops and establishes performance goals for the team and the department and consistently evaluates and modifies as necessary.
Develops strategies for cost-mitigation or revenue generation.
Writes performance evaluation.
Will lead performance improvement projects related to work areas.

Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience:
5 years of formal leadership, operational, capital and fiscal management and neonatal, pediatric experience in an academic environment required .
Previous Project Management and Hospital Management experience preferred.
Expert clinical knowledge of unit's patient population.
Ability to lead others.
Good organizational skills.
Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully, both verbally and in writing.

Education/Licensure/Certifications:
Master's degree and current California Respiratory Care license required.
15+ years of RCP leadership experience may substitute for a Master's degree.
Neonatal Pediatric Specialty Certification, and AHA CPR and PALS certification required.

Pay Scale Information

$143,936.00-$260,333.00

Final determination of a successful candidate's starting pay will vary based on a number of factors, including, but not limited to education and experience within the job or the industry.
The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description.
Additional pay may be determined for those candidates that exceed these specified qualifications and requirements.
