you will be part of a dynamic team that builds the foundation for a new generation of digital warfighting tools, leading the development of platforms that enable analytic workflows for DoD customers; such as the Office of Naval Research (ONR) and PEO Integrated Warfare Systems (PEO IWS).

These technologies have the ability to revolutionize a wide variety of domains but bring unique challenges associated with managing, fusing vast amounts of data to provide end-users with actionable information.You will be part of a team that works closely with our DoD customer and other teams to deliver innovative systems.
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead the research & development of analytics that provide such capabilities as:
Systematic integration of information from disparate sources to assemble a mission-focused database.Synchronization of information between distant and intermittently connected remote sites.Data access services that support advanced decision aids and user interfaces.In this role, you will:
Collaborate with co-workers, leadership, and clients to understand client problems, identify solutions, and demonstrate software solutions.Interface with customers to define requirements and communicate them to the development team.Design, create, and modify software written in primarily Java.Participate in internal and client-defined agile software development processes.Ensure software complies with customer requirements.Write technical software documentation and explain software design and implementation to co-workers, clients, and partners.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:
U.S CitizenshipBachelor s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related discipline from an accredited universityMinimum 8 years of relevant experienceStrong leadership skills to effectively lead project developmentThe ability to obtain/maintain a Secret clearanceExpert knowledge of JavaExcellent verbal and written communication skillsThe ability to travel up to 10%Additional desired experience and skills:
Experience contributing to production-grade softwareExperience with DoD information systems, use cases, and development practicesExperience writing software that interacts with databases and a working knowledge of database internals, preferably PostgresExperience with Java EE application development and related standards (JAX-RS, CDI, Config, Servlet) or similar frameworksWorking knowledge of web standards, common protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, HTTP, TLS), and common data format standards (e.g., XML, JSON)Experience writing software that integrate with authentication, authorization, and single-sign-on technologiesExperience with software containerization and container orchestration technologiesWorking knowledge of secure software development practices and common weaknessesWorking knowledge of Git and bug tracking tools such as JIRAAdvanced knowledge of Linux including development and hardening of system servicesIf you are interested in supporting our military and working with a passionate Serco team, then submit your application now for immediate consideration.
