This Expediter / Medical Supply Techposition is located in our Materials Management Department.

Hours:

This is a 40 hour per week benefited position, Monday through Friday, 8am to 4:30pm, weekends as necessary.

Starting Salary:

$22.04 - $31.21/hr and up, Rate of pay quoted is for less than one year up to 30 years of experience. The higher rate of pay is for more years of experience. PLUS shift differentials where applicable.

What you'll do:Expediter:

Assist in all warehousing, purchasing, and expediting functions of the Material Management Department.
Operate various office machines and uses hospital vehicles for picking up and delivering freight.
Assists all departments of the hospital with various functions and maintains professionalism with all customers to ensure quality of service, confidentiality, and security.

Medical Supply Tech:

Receive, sticker, stock, and distribute medical supplies and equipment to the patient care areas, and to record these transactions in the Materials Management computer system.
Perform duties such as filling supply and equipment orders, processing department charges into an automated system, and receiving and distributing medical supplies and equipment.
Maintain and record accurately the receipt and distribution of all medical supplies and equipment, and to ensure that the patient care staff has the supplies and materials necessary to provide uninterrupted patient care, while ensuring detailed documentation of each transaction within the SPH Materials Management system.

What you'll need:Expediter:

Have the minimum of a high school diploma.
Two to three years of work experience in a hospital or Health Care environment.
Medical terminology and familiarity with medical supplies and equipment is essential.
Clerical ability is required to process documents timely and accurately. This individual should be able to operate such general office machines as a computer keyboard, adding machine, mail machine and photocopier.
The individual in this position must have a valid Driver's License, a good driving record, and the ability to drive a 5-speed, standard-shift 4-wheel drive pick-up.
Deal courteously and tactfully with patients, staff and the public in general.
Follow established hospital policies and procedures, work with attention to detail, maintain accurate records and be willing and able to contribute to a pleasant, positive working environment.

Medical Supply Tech:

Have the minimum of a high school diploma.
Two to three years of experience in a Hospital or other Health Care environment, familiarity with medical terminology, supplies and equipment is preferred.
Clerical ability is required for timely, accurate processing of documents, distribution forms, patient information records and patient charges.
Be able to operate such general office machines as a computer keyboard, adding machine and photocopier.
