This Position is open to All Applicants.What You Will Be Doing: Would you like to serve the health of communities in Rural Alaska?

This role provides expert-level individual, population, and systems-based public health nursing services in Tok and surrounding communities. The Public Health Nurse 3 provides the full scope of public health nursing interventions, emergency preparedness planning, education classes in schools or with select community groups, supporting local initiatives to improve health conditions, and providing select clinical services when no other resource is available.

This position provides itinerant public health nursing services to the villages and communities of Tok, Northway, Tetlin, Mentasta, Chicken, Taylor, Alaska Highway Mile 1221 to 1382, Tanacross, and other sites as directed by the Itinerant Nurse Manager and the Regional Nurse Manager.

Special Notice:
This position will require the following during employment:

Valid Alaska Registered Nurse License- Alaska Nurse Practice Act: Nursing Statutes AS 09.68, Nursing Regulations 12 AAC 44;
Valid Driver's License;
CPR Certification
Travel to communities via vehicle and occasionally by small plane.

Minimum Qualifications:
PG03A3 - Public Health Nurse 3
Eligibility for licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Alaska;
AND
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited college or university or Direct Entry Master of Science (MSN) in Nursing from an accredited college or university;
AND
Any combination of additional education, certification, and/or experience that provides the applicant with competencies in:

Public Health: Applies knowledge of the concepts, principles, theories, methods, and tools associated with protecting and improving the health of people and their communities, including promoting healthy lifestyles, researching disease and injury prevention, and detecting, preventing, and responding to infectious diseases.
Decision Making: Makes sound, well-inform.
