SummaryThe advanced lead engineer will be focused on execution of detailed design efforts for various components in the Cold Section (including but not limited to airfoils, rotors, structures, and actuation).
Expectations include ownership of these components throughout the design cycle in addition to execution of broader program deliverables in accordance with the statement of work.The job allows modification of procedures and practices covering work as long as the end results meet standards of acceptability (quality, volume, timeliness etc.). Roles and ResponsibilitiesExecute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements.
This work would include mechanical engineering for cold section components.Developing in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline.
Uses prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy.In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work.
In-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.Uses some level of judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters but with guidance.
Uses prior experience and on-the-job training to solve straightforward tasks.
Has access to technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems.
May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.A job at this level is likely to be an individual contributor with proven interpersonal skills or an early people leader who can hire and develop talent.
Provides informal guidance to new team members.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university or collegeAt least 3 years of experience in Design EngineeringAbility to obtain and maintain US Government security clearanceDesired CharacteristicsMinimum of 5 years' experience in Design EngineeringMaster's Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace EngineeringExisting US Government Security ClearanceDemonstrated experience with turbomachinery component designIn-depth understanding of engineering technology and tools such as Ansys, Siemens NX, Finite Element Analysis and Geometric Dimensioning & TolerancingEngine design familiarization.Passionate, can-do, hands-on approach.Ability to guide and influence others.Operational experience working in and managing complex, distributed teams.Strong oral and written communication skills.Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.Established project management skills.This role requires access to U.S.
export-controlled information.
