As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Environmental Advisor to join our team and contribute to our business objectives.
This role is crucial to Mercury's success, as it involves coordinating and providing expert advice on resource consent compliance, environmental management, and stakeholder relationships.
You will play a key role in ensuring our operations align with the core values of the business, by taking care of tomorrow and connecting people and place today.
You will be part of a dedicated team ensuring compliance with relevant environmental legislation and regulations while maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Your work will focus on the environmental interactions around our existing and future geothermal, hydro and wind operating assets.
This role may have flexibility with location to be based in Hamilton or Rotorua.Key responsibilities include:
Coordinate the compliance and monitoring of resource consent conditions relating to existing generation assets and those in developmentManagement of consultants providing compliance and monitoring services to mercury to meet time, cost and quality expectationsManage environmental risks by providing appropriate environmental advice throughout Mercury operationsProvide advice and environmental support for activities throughout Mercury operationsWe are looking for:
A tertiary qualification in Resource Management or other relevant field such as natural sciences, planning or geographyExperience in RMA and environmental permitting processesFamiliarity with RMA processes and delivery of resource consent related projectsExperience in regulatory and environmental complianceExperience with Environmental monitoring an advantage, particularly related to ecology or water qualityExperience in renewable energy sector an advantageMercury offers (full benefits are listed on our Career Page):
