Application Engineers serve as a key technical resource within Kyocera, working in partnership with our UK Sales Team utilising both your technical and commercial skills to support the development of customer relationships within direct and distribution networks.Understanding customers' requirements, able to promote the technical features and benefits of a range of high quality cutting tools and solutions to a range of sectors including General manufacturing, Automotive and Aerospace.
Ideally based within a 35-mile radius of our Sheffield Sales Office, this role demands a high level of technical knowledge and excellent communication skills.This is a first-class opportunity to join an established, forward thinking market leader.Key Responsibilities:
Supporting and advising customers with technical information and machining strategies, along with running tool trials with the customers.Willingness to travel to customer sites as needed with some overnight stays as necessary.Collaborate with sales team members to support and understand their customers application needs, recommending suitable products or solutions.Act as the primary technical point of contact for customers, providing product demonstrations, presentations, and technical support throughout the sales cycle.Develop and deliver technical proposals, documentation, and other materials to support the sales process.Conduct product training sessions for customers to ensure they have a thorough understanding of product features and capabilities.Provide post-sales technical support, including troubleshooting assistance and resolution of customer issues.Stay informed about industry trends, competitor offerings, and emerging technologies to provide informed insights and recommendations to customers.Collaborate with internal teams to address customer-specific requirements and develop customized solutions as needed.Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, sales activities, and technical support requests in CRM software.Experience:
Proven experience in technical sales or application engineering, with prior exposure in Cutting Tool sales and or applications with distributors and direct customers.Solid understanding of engineering principles and experience with relevant tooling products or technologies, CAD/CAM experience essential.Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think strategically to address customer needs, ensuring a positive customer experience.Proficiency in CRM software, Microsoft Office suite, and other relevant technical tools.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.Kyocera offers an excellent induction programme and whilst comprehensive support will be given, you should be a disciplined, objective driven individual capable of working on your own initiative.Who will you be working with:
