The Team

You will be joining a diverse and engaged team of developers, project leads and product specialists.
Global Business Banking Risk Technology enables our business partners to fulfill critical regulatory functions in the bank with a direct impact to the bank's balance sheet and to the bank's new strategic priorities.
We provide project, change, development and production support services for complex enterprise risk IT systems.

The Role

We are searching for a Lead Software Engineer with expert IBM DataStage knowledge and experience who would be up for the challenge to build and enhance dozens of data pipelines while also providing technical leadership to upskill a team of developers.

About the Job

Role will require hands-on development.
Lead in creating coding standards, best practices, developer tooling and efficient testing approaches.
Create processes to ensure those standards are understood and adhered to by team.
Ability to be pragmatic in approach to align strategic expectations and standards with existing platforms and constraints so progress is made incrementally.
Collaborate with Business Partners, Architects, Product Specialists, and Senior Managers to realize technical vision and solution.
Role will be considered an expert in a major application and/or technical domains, and is highly regarded for technical competence.
Provide expert advice and counsel to key stakeholders on development project teams on complex issues related to 'area of specialty'.
Proficient in security scanning and implementing best practices to resolve security issues.
You are passionate about developing applications that are reusable, efficient, and scalable, working in an innovative, inclusive and cross functional team environment.

Technical Qualifications

7+ years experience with IBM DataStage.
10+ years of experience building data pipelines in enterprise settings.
Experience working in Agile environment.
DBA experience and expert SQL skills would be an asset, especially with Oracle databases.
Experience with building data pipelines in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) an asset.
Experience in banking and financial services would be an asset.
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering or relevant experience.

Soft Skills

Demonstrated ability to lead team members with differing opinions and provide guidance to varying levels of experience.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Work as a contributing member of a team.
