About the role

As a Claims Representative II, Accident Benefits, you will be responsible for investigating Accident Benefit claims to ensure a prompt and fair settlement. Your experience and expertise in claims will help you deliver outstanding customer service while analyzing and acting decisively based on the facts. Your natural ability to negotiate, influence, prioritize, be proactive and think creatively on your feet will help you thrive in our collaborative and energetic culture.

Location can be in either offices: Dartmouth, Nova Scotia or Dieppe, New Brunswick or St. Johns, Newfoundland

What you'll do here:

• Analyze and interpret insurance policy wording to determine coverage and assess entitlements which are fair and equitable.

• Communicate in a timely and respectful manner with the customer, claimants, lawyers and insurers to settle claims and report findings and settlements.

• Conduct investigations and identify additional information such as independent medical examinations, customers medical or employment history required to clarify and/or justify a claim.

• Collect reports and statements to determine liability and coverage.

• Ensure all cases are clearly documented and meet any or all legislative requirements.

• Assist junior staff with day-to-day issues, escalating more serious issues to senior specialists, consultant or management staff, as warranted.

What you bring to the table:

• A college diploma or a university degree or any combination of equivalent education and experience.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience as Adjuster Accident Benefits and/or Au claims.

• Can handle or oversee moderate to complex claims.

• Can communicate and negotiate effectively.

• Excellent customer service skills.

• Strong analytical and decision-making skills.

• Friendly and positive attitude.

• Excellent time management skills.

• Knowledge of the provincial legislation governing auto insurance.
