YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES AS A COMMERCIAL LINES UNDERWRITER:
• Underwrite new business, renewals, and endorsements.
• Evaluate new and renewal submissions to determine appropriate coverage and pricing.
• Conduct thorough research on new business accounts to inform evaluations and policy pricing.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with local brokers and clients.
• Continuously improve and update commercial underwriting processes, policies, and guidelines.
• Perform broker visits to strengthen relationships and support business development.
• Assist with audits to ensure compliance and accuracy in underwriting practices.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR IN A COMMERCIAL LINES UNDERWRITER:
• 3 to 5 years of commercial underwriting experience
• Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) or Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker (CAIB) designation is preferred
• Career-driven with a focus on personal and professional growth
• Proficiency in Excel is an asset
• A collaborative team player with an outgoing personality
