Description:
St Boniface hospital (SBH) and the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority (WRHA) are accepting applications for the Medical Lead, Cardiac Surgery, SBH.
Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Medical Lead, Cardiac Sciences, SBH and the Provincial Specialty Lead, Surgery, and in consultation with the Chief Medical Officers of SBH and WHRA, the incumbent will be responsible for:
• Administrative duties of the Cardiac Surgery Program at St. Boniface Hospital including planning for resource allocation, human resource management, and financial management planning in conjunction with Cardiac Sciences, SBH/WRHA and the Department of Surgery, University of Manitoba.
• Optimizing care delivery for patients within Cardiac Surgery/Cardiac Sciences, SBH including support of continuous quality improvement pertaining to patient care and safety.
• Ensuring collaboration and communication with the Cardiac Surgeons, Cardiac Sciences SBH, and the Department of Surgery, University of Manitoba; as well as the Section Head of Cardiac Surgery/ Program Director as applicable.
Qualifications:
• RCPSC certification (or equivalent) in Cardiac Surgery
• Holds a full license to practice medicine in the province of Manitoba
• Maintains hospital privileges within the WRHA
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a medical leadership role
• Has clinical practice experience involving acute care and managing the complex issues of the continuum of care
• Models a high level of professionalism, including respect, fairness, integrity and responsibility
Term:
• Standard term of 12 months for first appointment with offer of renewal to be determined by the St. Boniface CMO, in consultation with the Regional CMO.
Location:
• St. Boniface Hospital- 409 Tache Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba.
