$20.00 - $26.00 / hour (full-time / permanent)

At On Side Contents Technicians show up every day with a can-do attitude and desire to help. This team does vital work helping clients save precious possessions and memories with empathy, compassion, and hard work. When disaster strikes, Contents Technician teams are deployed to restore order out of chaos and clean up the aftermath. Working on site and in the On Side warehouse means no day or disaster is ever the same.

The Lead on this team reports to the Content Manager and helps with the day-to-day on-site direction of the team. Leading communications with Project Managers, Adjusters and trades communication skills are a necessary requirement of the job.

Lead Contents Technicians are responsible for:

• Leading and providing direction to the team
• Communicating with cross-functional teams and clients
• Working with customers to restore personal and commercial items to pre-disaster state
• Packing and cataloging contents from disaster affected areas and creating inventory lists
• Cleaning contents and structures
• Cleaning fabrics and textiles

What you bring:

• You love people and have great communication skills
• An optimistic outlook and a real desire to help
• Exceptional organizational skills
• Physically fit (ability to lift, carry and pack boxes) and willingness to follow all company safety requirements
• Valid driver's licence & clean drivers abstract
• Clean criminal record

Past industry experience that can translate into success in this job:
hotel, hotel housekeeper, tourism, hospitality, dry cleaning, laundry services, restaurant, restaurant manager, supervisor, server, customer service, waitress, waiter, bartender, bartending, banquet, concierge, travel, tour guide, sales, industrial or commercial cleaner, mover, packer.

Other stuff that'll help you be successful:

• You genuinely enjoy working with people in a team environment
• Ability to communicate effectively in English both written and verbal

Of Note

Disasters can strike at any time so a rotating schedule of 24/7 after hours on-call work is a requirement.

SCREENING QUESTIONS

• To qualify for employment for this position you much have legal authorization to work in Canada. What is your status:
  Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident of Canada or holder of a valid Open Work Permit?
• Do you currently have access to a vehicle -to safely get on sites when it's your turn to be On Call after hours- and a valid Canadian driver's license?
• Please describe your previous Contents Restoration experience:
  what were your responsibilities? What were your accomplishments?
• Restoration work requires extensive, detailed documentation and tracking. Do you have basic computer and/or tablet/iPad experience?
• Tell us about your leadership skills and why you would be successful in this lead position.
• Do you have a valid IICRC ticket?
• Are you capable of:
  Frequent lifting from 5-40 lbs, unassisted (from 35-65% of the time) • Occasional lifting from 41 lbs +, assisted (up to 50% of the time)
• Are you able to work a Rotating On-Call Schedule? This is additional to scheduled day time hours.
• Are you fluent reading / writing/ speaking English? If no, please rank your skills out of 10.
