What you would engage in:

Our focus is on the application of critical thinking to the management of mine waste and water. If continuing your career journey with us, you would be part of our Mining Environmental Group, based out our Vancouver office. The role of Intermediate Tailings Engineer comes with the flexibility to work a hybrid schedule and will provide you with the opportunity to:

• Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies to evaluate tailings management designs.
• Develop conceptual and detailed engineering designs for tailing storage facilities, including embankments, liners, and drainage systems.
• Perform numerical modeling and analysis to assess the stability and performance of tailing structures under various conditions.
• Provide technical guidance and support to clients throughout the project lifecycle (i.e., from design, to construction and operation).
• Engage with multi-disciplinary teams to integrate environmental, geotechnical, and regulatory considerations into tailings management strategies.
• Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation measures to minimize environmental and safety hazards associated with tailings storage facilities.

What we require:

We respect the knowledge and experience you have gained to date and are willing to support you as you build on it. We do however require:

• A degree in civil engineering, or geotechnical engineering:
  a master's degree is considered an asset
• 3+ years' experience in civil or geotechnical engineering (preferably for mining or related industries)
• You must be eligible to register as professional engineer in Canada
• Proficiency in geotechnical analysis software (e.g., FLAC, PLAXIS, GeoStudio)
• A general understanding of mining-related regulations and industry best practices
• Passion for collaborating with clients and fostering long-term relationships
• Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
• Ability to multi-task, maintain flexibility, high degree of organization, and work independently with minimal supervision in a deadline-driven environment
• Enhanced communication skills, which should include experience in writing technical reports and general project correspondence
• Experience in a safety focused environment with near miss and incident reporting requirements

The salary for this position is $80, 000 to $ 105,000 per year. Salary is based on applicable experience, education, and skill level.
