S2425-04 French Educational Assistant - Art Smith Aviation Academy We are seeking one full-time (1.0 fte) French Educational Assistant to commence at the start of the 2024-2025 school year.
The assignment involves assisting with student educational program needs including social skills, behaviour skills, self-help and personal care needs.
The position requires a compassionate and energetic individual to work in a team environment.
Art Smith Aviation Academy is located within the heart of 4 Wing Cold Lake with approximately 290 students in grades K to 9.
Art Smith Aviation Academy provides a K to 9 program in English and K to 6 French Immersion program to all families in the Cold Lake area.
The school takes pride in being able to focus on the specialized needs of military dependents while supporting students of the area surrounding 4 Wing Cold Lake.
Preference will be given to applicants who have :
Post-Secondary training and/or experience as an Educational Assistant Knowledge and experience with behavioural strategies Experience working one-on-one and/or in a group setting Knowledge of documentation procedures and proficiency with computers Knowledge and experience in alternate communication strategies Experience assisting students with self-help and personal care needs Familiarity with strategies to address different learning styles and experience with Individual Program Plans Training and skills that would be an asset include:
Relative experience in educational assistance, social work, nursing, and/or psychology SIVA and/or Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training Ability to speak French How to Apply:
