Head of Public RelationsReporting:
The Head of Public Relations shall report to the University President.Responsibilities:
The Head of Public Relations shall be responsible for:
3.1 planning, developing and executing PR strategies of the university3.2 communicating and networking with internal and external stakeholders regularly including media organizations/houses both print and digital media3.3 representing and promoting GU's distinctive excellence institution of higherlearning.3.4 supporting GU's mission and strategic goals and delivering GU core values tointernal and external constituencies through publications, media relations,photography and electronic communications3.5 celebrating and share the news and accomplishments of academic programs, alumni, faculty, leadership, partners, staff, and students3.6 increasing the overall reputation and awareness of the university3.7 assisting in expanding GU's engagement with communities public and private sectors3.9 working with media outlets from around the Kingdom of Bahrain to tell the GU story.3.10 developing effective internal communications to help GU campus communityunderstand and share the GU brand story consistently.3.11 increasing the flexibility and usability of GU branded marks and marketing collateral and ensure brand compliance across various university channels.3.12 refocusing resources in communications to develop news and consumer content that will support pillars of GU's brand and key focus areas as defined in the university's strategic plan3.13 creating comprehensive university brand campaign that supports the valuesidentified in the GU strategic plan and resonates with the outlined target audiences.3.14 creating impact in social media and reaching people via multiple channels with updates and posts about university events, activities, achievements and announcements3.15 ensuring University communication is compliant with the University's corporatestyle and brand identity, as set out in GU policy and procedures.3.16 assisting in monitoring and maintaining the implementation of the University'svisual identity through target audiences' interactions.Requirements:
Hold bachelor degree from a recognized university in business/management/media studies/marketing/social science At least 45 year of working experience in PR office in higher education institutions Minimum 2 years of work experience in PR, Marketing, media and communications industry Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills Excellent IT skills Ability to work in teams and within deadline Creativity, flexibility and problem solving skill Networking, negotiation skills with strategy driven approachNomination and Appointment:
Terms of Office:
The term of office of the Head of Public Relations shall be of two years renewable.Confidentiality:
The Head of Public Relations shall not reveal any confidential information related to Gulf University unless authorized by the University President/Council.
S/he shall sign the 'Confidentiality Statement' when appointed.Ability to commute/relocate:
Manama:
Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
