Role Summary:

In this role you'll prepare, review and sign off detailed technical reports and serve as technical lead and/or reviewer for consulting engagements within the Power Networks service offering. You will also develop consulting proposals and their components as well as supporting the General Manager in business development activities by presenting PSC capabilities to existing and prospective clients. You will be managing deliverables, schedules and budgets for client projects and studies, developing & delivering client presentations and keeping clients regularly updated, always managing expectations. You will coordinate workflows with colleagues around the world and you will mentor, coach and develop junior engineers. You'll be able to lead and carry out study projects across the generation, transmission and distribution sectors, including load flow, short circuit and stability analysis.
Essential Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Power System Studies Manager, the Principal Power Systems Engineer will:

Carry out and lead technical studies related to grid connection of renewables
Carry out and lead technical studies, including load flow, short circuit and stability analysis
Develop capability in one or more other specialized technical areas, such as earthing, protection, power quality, electromagnetic transients
Mentor, coach and develop junior engineers
Manage deliverables, schedules and budgets for client projects and studies
Manage client expectations through regular communications and responsiveness
Prepare detailed technical reports
Develop consulting proposals and their components
Develop and deliver presentations to clients
Coordinate workflows with PSC colleagues around the world
Assist with resource planning and management
Support the Power System Studies Manager in business development activities by presenting PSC capabilities to existing and prospective clients
Serve as technical lead for consulting engagements within the Power Systems Studiesservice offering.

Minimum Expertise:

Undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering is required
Expertise in power system analysis in generation, transmission and/or distribution systems with a minimum of 8-10years of experience

Legally authorized to work in Australia
Advanced users of PSS/E and/or PSCAD network simulation software
Good working knowledge of Australia's NationalEnergy Rules
Preferred Expertise:
Ability to work to deadlines and exceed client expectations
Excellent written and verbal communication skills - in particular, established habits of clear and unambiguous email and technical document writing, and an ability to present an argument clearly and concisely
Excellent presentation skills to represent PSC in industry forums, working groups and conference as well as client presentations
CPEng and RPEQ qualifications desirable
