An exciting opportunity has arisen for an
Senior Mechanical Designer - Bulk Material Handling
to join our
Transportation and Logistics consulting business
based in one of our offices.
About the role
•
Prepare layouts and detail drawings in line with project requirements;
Deliver design drafting according to required project timeframes and standards by coordinating and supervising project members, reviewing deliverables and preparing design and detail drawings in line with requirements;
Overcome design/schedule issues by maintaining an overview of activity, communicating with the Principal Draftsperson / Engineer and communicating issues in a timely manner;
Maintain consistent design drafting standards across projects by communicating expectations and holding project members to account for standards;
Ability to take initiative with designs and layouts based on your knowledge of material handling systems and equipment as well as project parameters to develop concepts and detailed designs.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and guidance at times.
Comply with all of Ausenco corporate policies and procedures by adopting Ausenco Quality Assurance and Occupational Health, Safety and Environment policies, procedures and requirements.
Communicate and work with project teams in both Latin America, North America and Australia.
About you
A minimum of 10 years' experience in Mechanical, and Bulk Materials Handling design and drafting;
Knowledge and experience with design of plant and port layouts with knowledge of crushing, grinding, materials handling, stockpiles, rail mounted machines (stackers, reclaimers, shiploaders), rail dumpers and conveyors.
Experience in requirements for studies and detailed design projects
flotation, CIL/CIP, slurry, pumping, slurry agitation, particle size classification and separation would also be highly regarded;
Experience with Bentley Prosteel, Autocad, SmartPlant3D and AutoPLANT are desirable.
Well-developed written and oral communication skills.
Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing in both Spanish and English
