The Head of Learning - HPE, under the direction of the Director of Teaching and Learning (7-12), is a visionary educator who inspires a team of dedicated professionals.
The Head of HPE will bring an innovative approach to leading the learning and the teaching of the Health and Physical Education department at the School.
In this important leadership position, the successful candidate will have direct responsibility for leading and supporting a diverse teaching team to deliver exciting opportunities for students across this learning area.
The role involves a range of administrative duties, whilst nurturing the development of engaging curricular across the faculty.

This is a permanent role commencing from January 2025.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure personalised, innovative, relevant learning experiences are developed and imbedded in curriculum across all years.
  
• Engage with faculty staff to ensure that appropriate differentiation of learning is provided.
  
• Lead staff in their dedication to a whole school continual improvement including regular review of programs.
  
• Inspire, encourage and support staff in their development by being present, listening and identifying support needs.
  
• Ensure high standards of assessment and reporting are maintained including providing information and support to new staff on GGS practices.
  
• Engage with specialist resources such as Digital Learning and Inclusive Education to enhance student experience in HPE.
  

About You

• Previous experience working as a Teacher in Physical Education and/or Outdoor Education.
  
• Proven leadership skills with experience in curriculum development.
  
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
  
• Relevant teaching qualification in physical Education and/or Outdoor Education.
  
• Hold current Working with Children Check.
  
• Hold a current TRBWA registration.
  
• Proof of Right to Work in Australia.
