Perform all duties necessary to the efficient operation of all equipment in the plant. Perform all types of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic repairs on plant equipment. May also do preventative maintenance, trouble shooting, overhaul, etc.

• Perform all types of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic repairs on plant machinery
• Continue to keep current in skills through training, classes and on the job training
• Work independently in planning, laying out, and performing assigned machine repair work
• Must be familiar with and have the ability to operate plant machinery related jobs assignments
• Must be able to work from complicated machine drawings, part lists, specifications, schematics, and verbal instructions
• Reproduce and/or repair machine parts, holders, and attachments to strict tolerances utilizing tool room equipment, such as lathes, milling machines, drill presses, welders, etc.
• Must have a thorough knowledge of all bearings, seals, clutches, pumps, gears, etc.
• Be able to understand interface between mechanical and electrical controls
• May instruct, or direct lower rated machines repair people as needed
• May be required to establish and maintain records for machine repair items
• These records would be identified by part number, inventory cards, locations, order cards, part books, etc.
• Must be accountable for process, evaluation, measurement, documentation, and improvement on a continuous basis
• Actively participate in department and process team activities and projects.
• Work safely in accordance with regulations, standards, and procedures in a manner that eliminates risk to health and the environment. Notify leadership of unsafe conditions or practices unlawful activities and activities which present unreasonable health and/or environmental risk. Report all safety and/or environmental incidents to leadership immediately.

• High School diploma or GED
• Four (4) years of formal trades training or equivalent experience preferred
• Good verbal and interpersonal communication skills
• Sound decision making skills
• Have a high mechanical aptitude
• Able to work independently and be a self-starter
• Good math, reading and writing skills
