Requirements

Responsible for assisting in the development of heavy civil design projects, focusing on transportation-related structures (bridges, walls, etc.).
Perform structural engineering calculations from preliminary to final design, under the supervision of a Professional Engineer.
Produce drawings and develop cost estimates.
Coordinate with project staff, including other disciplines.

Qualifications

Recent graduate, or up to 4 years of structural design experience required. Those with professional experience should have been primarily focused on surface transportation projects.
BSCE is required.
Flexible schedule available
Fundamentals of Engineering passed, or a demonstrated ability to achieve within a year of joining Lochner.
Strong written and oral communication skills are required.
Strong commitment to client service, both internal and external, is required.

Intermittent sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, stoop, crawl, and lifting. The employee must frequently lift and/or move light equipment up to 20 pounds. Must be alert to equipment in the field, occasional need to work near hazardous equipment and machinery, occasional need to walk on uneven ground, exposure to dust, gas or fumes, exposure to noise, extremes in temperature or humidity, and potential work at heights.
