Accounting Analyst

Accounting Analyst

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Execute daily accounts payable job functions.
  2. Redefine and automate accounts payable processes.
  3. Reconciliation of bank accounts, investment accounts, journal entries and fixed assets, and other general ledger accounts as necessary.
  4. Assistance in preparation of budget worksheets and assist in preparing annual operating budgets.
  5. Responsible for reporting and analyzing month end, quarter end, and year-end financial information and activity.
  6. Manage and develop weekly, monthly, and yearly accounting and finance reports and processes associated with fixed assets and depreciation, cash management, investment accounting, payroll financial reporting, insurance renewals, inventory management, accounts payable, miscellaneous cash, contributions, and other areas as needed.
  7. Analyzes large quantities of data for accuracy and cost trends to create useful information and financial models.
  8. Develop forecasting tools to automate financial data analysis.
  9. Assist with the preparation and review of work papers for Medicare and Medicaid cost reports.
  10. Works with the certified public accountants regarding the annual audit.
  11. Monitor developments in the fields of accounting and finance in the long-term care industry.
  12. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  1. Education, Training and Experience:
    Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or business preferred. Prior accounting/finance/healthcare experience. Must have advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office products.
  2. Job Knowledge:
    Must have knowledge of principles of accounting. Knowledgeable of Medicaid and Medicare rules and regulations.

Working Conditions:
 Works in a clean, well-lighted, ventilated building. Occasional travel is required between community locations to include but not limited to travel to conferences, events, and meetings.

Physical Demands:
 Standing, sitting, walking, lifting-up to 30 lbs., handling, fingering, pushing, pulling, carrying, reaching, overhead, reaching forward, reaching low, stooping, kneeling, climbing, crouching, twisting motion, and balancing. Corrected vision to 20/20 and hearing to normal range.

 Must have discretion in judgment, tact and courtesy in dealing with residents, employees and general public.
