Principal Data Scientist - Mainframe Solutions (Plano, TX)
At Broadcom's Mainframe Division, we're leveraging the power of AI to revolutionize the mainframe experience for Fortune 500 clients. We're searching for a driven and impactful Data Scientist to join our team, someone who thrives on translating business challenges into innovative AI solutions with real-world impact.
What you'll do:
Design, develop, and deploy cutting-edge machine learning models using LLM and other relevant technologies to solve critical mainframe challenges for developers and operations teams.
Own the entire data science lifecycle, from problem definition and data acquisition to model training, evaluation, and deployment.
Build and automate MLOps pipelines to streamline model performance monitoring and evaluation.
Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of your solutions into our product offerings.
Document your work extensively, clearly communicating complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
Represent Broadcom at industry-leading conferences and deliver technical talks showcasing your expertise.
Who you are:
Highly motivated and self-driven, with a passion for applying AI to real-world business problems.
PhD in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, or a related field preferred + 3+ years of experience (Master's degree + 6+ years of industry experience considered).
Excellent programming skills in Python, R, Scala, or other languages used for ML development.
Deep understanding of the data science lifecycle and experience with MLOps pipelines.
Expert in model evaluation methods and metrics, able to clearly document and communicate results.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
Proven experience releasing and supporting machine learning solutions in production for customers.
Bonus points:
Familiarity with the mainframe environment and its unique challenges.
Experience with DevOps practices and cloud technologies.
Passion for presenting technical topics to various audiences.

Compensation And Benefits
The annual base salary range for this position is $91,200 - $152,000
This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in accordance with relevant plan documents, and equity in accordance with equity plan documents and equity award agreements.
