Company Overview: Our client seeks Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) for onsite Clinic and Surgical anesthesia services, covering a range of procedures for Department of Veterans Affairs beneficiaries. The CRNA functions as a cooperative and collegial team member with the entire staff.

Position Summary: The successful candidate must hold a valid medical license and current board certifications (BLS, ACLS, or equivalent) and performed the relevant duties for minimum of 2 years with the license and certifications. This position is a full-time,12-month contract.

Responsibilities:

Translate anesthesia principles into patient care.
Conduct pre-anesthetic history, physical exams, and evaluations to formulate anesthetic plans.
Communicate anesthetic risks, benefits, and alternatives to patients.
Prepare patients, operating rooms, and procedural areas for anesthesia.
Administer various anesthetics and continuously evaluate patient responses.
Manage post-anesthetic care to optimize recovery and minimize pain.
Ensure accurate and timely anesthetic record-keeping and documentation.
Stay updated with advancements in anesthesia and work effectively in interdisciplinary teams.
Collaborate with colleagues, train students, and demonstrate effective communication and professional behavior.
Conduct and manage anesthesia for diverse surgical procedures, adapting techniques as needed.
Perform clinical and technical aspects of anesthesia with in-depth knowledge of methods and techniques.
Integrate technology, skills, and competency to advance anesthesia techniques, pharmacology, and equipment.
Apply new developments and theories to solve complex anesthesia situations.
Respond to emergencies with airway management, emergency fluids, medications, and resuscitation procedures.
Provide emergency treatment based on Advanced Directives in VISTA.
Document data in electronic medical records.
Perform pre-anesthetic evaluations, collaborate on anesthesia plans, deliver anesthesia, and provide intra- and post-operative care.
As part of the 'Code Blue' Team, provide emergency airway and resuscitation management and maintain effective relationships with all staff levels.

Shifts and Work Conditions:

The contract resulting from this requirement shall provide maximum flexibility to the VA scheduling authority.
Medical Center provides nurse anesthesia services 24hours a day, 7 days a week.
Scheduling requirements are according to the needs of the department.
Contractor's personnel shall be required to work any regular or irregular tour, with 8 hour, 10 hour and 12 hour tours, or a mixture thereof, typically being the any of the following based on patient care needs:

8 Hour Tour:
- Day 06:45 - 15:15;
- Evening 11:00 - 19:30;
10 Hour Tour:
- Day 06:45 - 17:15;
- Evening 11:00 - 21:30;
12 Hour Tour:
- Day 06:45 - 19:15;

Qualifications:

The experience required should be within last 12 months with no gaps in employment more than four (4) months.
Minimum Two years' (2) experience as a CRNA
Current and unrestricted ACLS and BLS Certifications in Texas and across States.
Graduate of an accredited nurse anesthesia educational program approved by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA) at the time the program was completed by the applicant.
Current, full active and unrestricted licensure as a graduate professional nurse in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth (i.e., Puerto Rico) of the U.S. or in the District of Columbia.
The nurse anesthetist must maintain a current, full, active, and unrestricted registration to continue employment with VA.

Necessary Attributes:

CRNAs will maintain recertification by meeting the Council on Recertification of Nurse Anesthetist's requirements as a condition of employment.
Nurse Anesthetists will maintain recertification by meeting the Council on Recertification of Nurse Anesthetist's requirements as a condition of employment.
Proficiency in spoken and written English.
