At Rapid City Medical Center, we're seeking a Histology Lab Technician to assist in all aspects of the Dermatology Histology Lab.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Performs technical laboratory functions including specimen grossing, processing, cutting, staining, and coverslipping.
Ensures quality control in collecting specimens, and in ensuring specimen integrity and slide quality.
Maintains equipment and supplies as needed.
Complies with all policies and OSHA regulations related to safety, cleanliness, infection control.
Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION: High school diploma with HT certification or BS in Biology or related field
EXPERIENCE: One year laboratory experience preferred.
ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS: Primarily laboratory setting. Exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, fumes, hazardous materials, noise.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS: Varied activities including standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, lifting, stooping. Must be able to lift/carry/push 50 pounds. Requires eye-hand coordination. Occasional stress from workload.
